Dusty Cover Monday - #1

So my partner in crime, and occasional poster here on Novel Goddess, Kristy Zee had what I would call, "A Brilliant Idea".  With all the excitement out there for Newly Released books...Kristy thought we should start a Meme to remember those books we were once so excited about, but have yet to read.  You know, the ones sitting on your nightstand collecting dust. Or maybe you are a better housekeeper than I am and you don't have Dusty Covers, but still have a stack of books on the nightstand.

See, Kristy knows me so well! My stack of excitement isn't sitting on my nightstand, but on the floor next to the night stand and is taller than the nightstand.

So with this being the inaugural "Dusty Cover Monday" post...I am committing to reading a book out of my stack of "Dusty Covers". My choice for this week is....
Old Magic
by Marianne Curley

GoodReads SynopsisJarrod Thornton is mesmerizing, but Kate Warren doesn't know why.

The moment the new guy walks into the room, Kate senses something strange and intense about him. Something supernatural. Her instincts are proven correct a few minutes later when, bullied by his classmates, Jarrod unknowingly conjures up a freak thunderstorm inside their classroom.

Jarrod doesn't believe in the paranormal. When Kate tries to convince him that he has extraordinary powers that need to be harnessed, he only puts up with her "hocus pocus" notions because he finds her captivating. However, the dangerous, uncontrolled strengthening of his gift finally convinces Jarrod that he must take Kate's theories seriously. Together, they embark on a remarkable journey—one which will unravel the mystery that has haunted Jarrod's family for generations and pit the teens against immense forces in a battle to undo the past and reshape the future.

I loved Marianne Curley's "Guardians of Time" Trilogy, so I knew this was another book for me when I saw it on the bookstore shelf.

Awesome! My Dusty Cover for this week is Wicked Game by Jeri-Smith Ready. Vampires and music (not YA)! I think it is from 2008! YIKES! Oh and my stack is also by my nightstand, on my nightstand, on the small trunk beside my nightstand, you get the idea, and all with a nice THICK layer of dust! O.O
