And if that doesn't take enough of Mercy's attention, her friend Samuel is struggling with his wolf side-leaving Mercy to cover for him, lest his own father declare Sam's life forfeit.
All in all, Mercy has had better days. And if she isn't careful, she might not have many more to live.
My Thoughts: This was an exceptional story. Poor Sam is going through hell and we learn more about what it is to be an “old wolf”…basically finding nothing to live for. Meanwhile we are getting sucked into the Fae World and nothing is as it seems. Briggs has really created a great world for her storytelling. She is continually able to find ideas and craft them to fit into the World of Mercy Thompson, seamlessly. Each book is fresh and exciting. Love it!
